SpringWell CF1: filter features

Flex bed

SpringWell’s Flex bed is a unique filter media design that increases performance and lifespan by preventing channeling (water forming grooves in the filter by always following the same course through the system). In fact, SpringWell’s Flex bed is so impressive that it creates the longest water-media contact time in any major whole-house system tested, even in low-flow conditions. This results in increased filtration with added reliability.

KDF bed

The CF series uses two main filtration media. The first is a KDF media made from a copper/zinc alloy combination that attracts and removes up to 99.6% of chlorine and other potentially harmful chemical contaminants. FDA-approved tap water can still contain unhealthy amounts of chlorine, chloramine, haloacetic acids, as well as the so-called ‘forever chemicals’ PFAS and PFOS—thankfully, the CF1 reduces all of these to trace levels.

Catalytic carbon bed

The second filtration media in the CF series filter is a catalytic carbon bed, which is designed to target organic contaminants that exist in aquatic environments and worsen the taste, smell, and appearance of drinking water. This includes gases from decaying vegetation, herbicides, pesticides, and more.

5-micron sediment filtration

Like all SpringWell whole-house filtration systems, the CF series comes with a premium 0.5-micron filter, which helps to keep water crystal clear by removing microscopic specs of sand, silt, rust, dirt, and other sediments.

Aquasana’s Rhino system can be configured in multiple ways to suit your home’s water supply, whatever it contains. UpFlow tanks keep water flowing at a respectable 7 GPM and increase performance by spreading water equally across the filter media. The main tank in the Rhino should last for up to 10 years, and uses a dual filtration media to remove most metals and chemicals.
